DingTalk's AI Group Chat Gets Major Upgrade: Every Group Now Has Dedicated "AI Xiao Ding" Assistant

DingTalk has released version 8.2.10, announcing a comprehensive upgrade to its AI group chat feature. Each DingTalk group will now be equipped with a dedicated AI agent called "AI Xiao Ding." This small assistant, available 24/7 within the group, aims to enhance communication and work efficiency, reshaping the collaborative experience in DingTalk's AI group chats.

AI Xiao Ding represents a new attempt by DingTalk to explore work methods in the AI era. It functions as a "proactive service agent" within DingTalk groups. Users simply need to mention @AI Xiao Ding in a newly created "internal group" to engage in natural language conversations, query chat history, manage tasks, adjust group settings, and more. Owners and administrators of existing "internal groups" can add and configure "AI Xiao Ding" as a group robot in the group settings to begin using it.

Currently, AI Xiao Ding has launched three main functions: a personalized information hub, where group users can customize keywords of interest, and AI Xiao Ding will connect with the "Discovery Information" source behind it to push high-value content to the group daily at scheduled times; an intelligent group dynamics manager, which regularly summarizes key information of interest within the group, automatically generates daily/weekly report summaries, intelligently identifies unfinished tasks, and provides timely reminders to responsible persons for follow-up to avoid missed items; and natural language group management, allowing group administrators to streamline operations by using natural language dialogue to set group quick bar applications, adjust group names, batch set group member roles, and more.
