VCG31N1234603350邵亦波的退出，让当时刚成立淘宝两个月、得到孙正义等人支持的马云看到了进军C2C的希望。此后，深谙中国人消费购物习惯的淘宝，一路狂奔。而eBay接手后的易趣，由于依然坚持包括网站继续收取服务费等在内的“美国模式”，市场份额不断减少。根据CNNIC发布的数据，2006年易趣eBay市场份额已经下滑至29%，同年淘宝已经拥有了近七成的市场份额。而仅在一年前，ebay易趣仍占据国内近六成的市场。2006年，eBay与TOM在线合作，成立新的合资公司。2012年4月，易趣网成为Tom集团的全资子公司，易趣所有的业务由eBay剥离，独立运营。据艾瑞咨询发布的数据显示，在C2C网购市场，淘宝2012年第二季度以95%的份额处于绝对领先，易趣的份额则降至0.01%，可以忽略不计。“事实上2010年以前，易趣虽存在很多问题，但还是有一定的市场和空间。然而在ebay退出中国市场，易趣成为Tom集团子公司后，其服务质量进一步下降，与客户之间制造了大量问题，最终导致易趣渐渐地淡出大家的视野。”中国电子商务研究中心电商分析师余思敏接受《每日经济新闻》记者采访表示。回看2003年，马云在易趣的巅峰时期推出淘宝网进行正面交战，一度被戏谑为“蚂蚁战大象”。许多年过去，当年的“蚂蚁”已经成为商业巨头，而“大象”几乎一蹶不振。生搬硬套终究“水土不服”在多数业界人士看来，易趣eBay的失败主要在于一直照搬“美国模式”造成的“水土不服”。“易趣网的落寞是因为一系列决策带来的后果。”余思敏指出，易趣最初所使用的用户收费模式与海外同步，同时期淘宝为和易趣竞争一直采取亲民免费模式，吸引了大量用户，而此时易趣并没有选择跟进和改变对抗策略。再加上与eBay合作带来的一系列问题导致了大量用户流失，市场竞争力大幅下降。记者注意到，在淘宝的压力下，易趣eBay也一度寻求过变通，比如与贝宝（PayPal）对接，提供方便快捷的支付模式，并从2006年开始免除所有服务费用……但是因为反应相对滞后，淘宝早已抢占市场份额，为时已晚。2010年2月，易趣eBay曾寄希望于依靠eBay所拥有的丰富海外资源，推出海外代购业务，却依然收获寥寥。创始人邵亦波投资宝宝树、猎聘据公开资料，易趣网的创始人邵亦波1973年9月出生于上海，为哈佛大学商学院1999届MBA
