Key Economic Data and Policy Events

The National Bureau of Statistics will publish the latest PMI data on Monday, August 31, followed by a report on price changes for essential production materials in the circulation sector on Friday, September 4.

Several new regulations take effect on September 1. The People's Bank of China, together with the State Administration for Market Regulation, has issued a joint notice prohibiting any individual or entity from illegally buying or selling RMB that is currently in circulation, with specific exceptions. These include RMB that has been officially withdrawn from circulation by the central bank, which may be traded from the date of withdrawal, and commemorative coins, which encompass both ordinary commemorative coins and precious metal commemorative coins.
