President Donald Trump on Thursday signed a resolution to terminate California's electric vehicle mandate, a rule that called for banning the sale of gasoline-powered cars in the state by 2035, multiple news outlets reported.

During the ceremony, Trump also said he could raise tariffs on automobile imports to support domestic automakers, Bloomberg reported.

Trump said he could raise the tariffs from the current 25% "in the not-too-distant future," The Hill reported.
