Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) is in discussions to invest in crypto payments firm MoonPay as part of a funding round, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
MoonPay is nearing the close of its fundraising, targeting a valuation of $5 billion, the report said, citing one of the people. The company was valued at $3.4 billion after a funding round in late 2021, according to the report.
ICE didn't immediately comment, and MoonPay declined to comment, Bloomberg reported.
Caroline Pham, the acting chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, will join MoonPay as chief legal officer, the report said, citing the crypto company's post on X on Wednesday.
ICE didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
