Amazon.com (AMZN) said Wednesday it has launched Alexa+, a next-generation assistant powered by generative artificial intelligence, for all customers in the US.
The assistant is included at no additional cost for Prime members, while others can access the service for $19.99 per month, the company said.
A new free tier allows non-Prime members to use a limited text-based chat experience via the mobile app and a new website, the company added.
The assistant uses a new architecture powered by Amazon Nova and Anthropic large language models to perform complex tasks like booking reservations, Amazon said.
Alexa+ is available across Alexa-enabled devices, the Alexa app, and Alexa.com to help families stay organized, it said.
