Japan to Start Release of Strategic Fuel Stockpiles -- WSJ

Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said the government would begin releasing strategic stockpiles of oil products this week to counter the rising price of fuel due to the conflict in the Middle East. She said the country had already implemented subsidies and had released some private stockpiles.

The prime minister had previously telegraphed that Japan would take such a step, but hadn't indicated when.
