Orange named Frederic Sanchez as its next chairman to succeed Jacques Aschenbroich, who reached the age limit for the position.
The French telecommunications company said it decided to appoint Sanchez at the close of the annual shareholders' meeting, due to be held on May 19.
Sanchez was an independent director at the company, and the chair of the strategy and technology committee.
Orange said he was appointed on the recommendations of the governance, corporate social and environmental responsibility committee, and another committee that was set up to find a successor to Aschenbroich.
