Singapore Dollar Weakens Amid Risk-Off Sentiment -- Market Talk
Dow Jones03-23
0334 GMT - The Singapore dollar weakens slightly against its U.S. counterpart in the Asian session. There is a risk-off tone, as equities in the region are lower, according to Maybank analysts in a foreign-exchange research and strategy report. Markets are weighing the likelihood of a prolonged [Middle East] conflict and the risk of other parties, such as the U.K., getting involved, the analysts say. "Energy and stagflationary risks remain heightened, and risk sentiment remains poor," they add. The U.S. dollar is 0.1% higher at 1.2827 Singapore dollars, LSEG data show. (ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
