French President Emmanuel Macron said he held talks with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reiterating France's commitment to helping defend Saudi air space against repeated Iranian missile and drone attacks.

Macron also urged a temporary halt to attacks against energy and civilian infrastructure in the region and called on Iran to restore freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
