Oman said it was working with Iran to ensure safe passage in the Strait of Hormuz after President Trump said he was postponing strikes on energy infrastructure in the Islamic Republic.
"Oman is working intensively to put in place safe passage arrangements for the Strait of Hormuz," Oman's foreign minister, Badr Albusaidi, said Monday in a post on X without elaborating.
Iran has retaliated against U.S.-Israeli strikes by attacking commercial ships in the strategic waterway, effectively closing it to international traffic, though Tehran insists it is open to vessels from "non-hostile" countries. Trump has called on allies to provide naval escorts to shipping in the strait, but so far none have offered to provide assistance while the fighting rages.
