Iran Was Betrayed by U.S. Diplomacy but Is Talking to Neighbors, Official Says -- WSJ

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tehran has had "a very disastrous experience" with U.S. diplomacy and was betrayed by Washington.

Asked about the possibility of diplomacy with the U.S. to end the war, Esmail Baghaei told India Today that Iran was bombed twice over the past nine months while it was talking with the U.S., referring to attacks last June and the conflict that began Feb. 28. The world is "concerned about the price of oil, the price of groceries, but we are concerned about the lives of our citizens," he said.

While Iran has denied that it is talking to the U.S., Baghaei said neighbors such as Pakistan have reached out offering to mediate and Tehran has been talking to them. "There have been messages going around for some days" and "we have responded to those messages," he said.
