The German 10-year Bund yield fell by 7 basis points to 2.967% from 3.037%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 3 basis points to 4.337% from 4.369%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
Stocks in Asia were up as Japan's Nikkei 225 index gained 2.9%, and Hong Kong's Hang Seng gained 1.1%. China's benchmark Shanghai Composite gained 1.3%.
