A Qatari spokesman said Tuesday the country isn't involved in possible negotiations between the U.S. and Iran.
"Our views about any talks-if they exist-are consistent with our very principled position: all conflicts will end on the negotiation table, and we support all of these efforts," said Majed Al Ansari, an adviser to Qatar's prime minister. "I am not privy to the details of the current negotiations, but we stand ready to help, of course, if there is any role for Qatar."
President Trump said Monday the U.S. military would postpone strikes on Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure following "productive talks with Tehran. The reversal came after a series of closed-door discussions through Middle Eastern intermediaries, The Wall Street Journal reported. Pakistan offered to mediate talks between the U.S. and Iran to end the war, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Tuesday.
