Pony AI May Need Three More Years Before Achieving Sustainable Profitability -- Market Talk

Dow Jones03-27

0834 GMT - Pony AI might need three more years before achieving sustainable, operations-driven profitability at the group level, say Daiwa analysts in a note. The company has crossed a commercialization milestone by achieving unit economics breakeven at its robotaxi operations in China's Shenzhen and Guangzhou, suggesting that its robotaxi model can sustain itself economically, they add. Pony AI is on track for early commercial or pilot deployments across Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, they say. The brokerage maintains its buy rating on the stock and raises its target price to $23 from $20. Shares last closed at $9.72. (jiahui.huang@wsj.com; @ivy_jiahuihuang)
