Alphabet's Google (GOOGL, GOOG) and other cloud providers have held talks with AI start-up Poolside to resurrect a scheme to build a large Texas data center project, the Financial Times reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The talks follow the collapse of the 2-gigawatt Horizon data center project in Texas with CoreWeave (CRWV) and the failure of a $2 billion funding round led by Nvidia (NVDA), the report said.
Poolside was in discussions with Google to get the Horizon project up and running as a 400 megawatt data center, although one source for the report said those negotiations are no longer active.
Google and Poolside did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
