March 31 (Reuters) - Uruguay-based e-commerce giant MercadoLibre will invest $750 million in Chile this year, the company and the Chilean government said on Tuesday.

The investment, which marks a nearly 30% growth from last year's investment, is expected to create 1,200 new jobs, Chilean President Jose Antonio Kast's office said in a statement.
