President Trump said the U.S. might hold discussions with Iran this weekend.

"Maybe over the weekend," he told reporters when asked about potential talks.

"We're very close to making a deal," Trump added. Asked whether he planned to extend the cease-fire with Iran, Trump said he hoped to get a deal soon. "We're doing very well. I can tell you," he said. "Maybe it'll happen before that. I'm not sure it needs to be extended."
