Alphabet's (GOOG, GOOGL) Google has agreed to construct an artificial intelligence campus in Seoul, South Korea, multiple media outlets reported Monday, citing presidential policy advisor Kim Yong-Beom.
Google DeepMind Chief Executive Demis Hassabis and South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung met in the capital on Monday, with a memorandum of understanding signed between the company and South Korea's science ministry, media outlets reported, citing Kim.
South Korea also requested the tech giant to send at least 10 engineers to the AI campus from its US headquarters and DeepMind CEO said he would consider that, according to Reuters, citing Kim.
Google did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
