TPG has hired Axel Andre as the alternative asset manager's new chief financial officer, plucking the executive from Reinsurance Group of America.

TPG on Monday said Andre, who was also named a partner, joins the firm on July 27 to succeed Jack Weingart, who will transition fully into his position as chief executive of TPG's global wealth solutions business.

Andre, 50 years old, has been executive vice president and finance chief of life and health reinsurer Reinsurance Group since 2024.

TPG said Andre will receive an annual base salary of $500,000 and will be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive, with an expected allocation for 2026 of about $3.5 million.

TPG last year said Weingart, who joined the firm in 2006 and has been finance chief since 2021, last year took on the additional role of CEO of its wealth-solutions business, focused on leading and building out its wealth platform.

Reinsurance Group said Laura Cockrill, who had been executive vice president and chief strategy officer, succeeds Andre as chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Cockrill, 49 years old, has been with the Chesterfield, Mo., company since 2000.
