Singapore's Prime Minister, Lawrence Wong, signed memorandums of understanding with Timor-Leste counterpart, Xanana Gusmao, linked with bilateral consultations and the designation of Timor-Leste as an approved non-traditional source country for work permit holders.
Effective the second half of 2027, Timorese workers will have the opportunity to be part of the city-state's construction, marine shipyard, process, manufacturing and services sector, according to a ministry release on Friday.
Meanwhile, ASEAN-related capacity building programs were also revealed to support Timor-Leste's membership integration.
