Singapore Regulator Launches Public Consultation on Legislative Framework

MT Newswires07-07 17:49

The Monetary Authority of Singapore has launched a public consultation on a proposed Protection Cell Company legislative framework, to reduce the cost and complexity of alternative risk transfer structures, according to a MAS release on Tuesday.

The move could substantially expand the city-state's captive insurance and insurance-linked securities markets via improved requirements.

Under the model, a single legal entity will house a central core, providing governance and oversight.
