DoorDash is now available as a native sales channel inside the Shopify App Store, the on-demand delivery company said Tuesday
The change allows U.S. merchants with physical stores to enable DoorDash from their existing Shopify account without separate onboarding or manual catalog uploads. That move will cut setup times down to a matter of days from weeks previously, DoorDash said.
For consumers the move means goods from more local stores will now be available, DoorDash said, adding that it plans to expand that integration internationally.
"Merchants want to sell wherever their customers are, and increasingly that means meeting them with speed and convenience," Shopify's vice president of Partnerships Atlee Clark said. "This integration puts local retailers in front of millions of DoorDash shoppers and turns same-day demand into sales, all managed inside Shopify."
