BYD's (HKG:1211, SHE:002594) sales of new energy vehicles rose to 419,211 units in July, while production increased to 420,249 vehicles, according to a Sunday Hong Kong bourse filing.
Passenger vehicle sales rose to 411,072 units from 341,030 a year earlier, with battery electric vehicle (BEV) sales increasing 31% to 233,105 units and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) sales rising 9% to 177,967 units.
Commercial vehicle sales climbed to 8,139 units from 3,266.
For the first seven months of 2026, the Chinese automaker's sales and production declined by 11% and 9% year over year, respectively.
