Silicon Laboratories (SLAB) said Friday it has opened a new research and development laboratory at its headquarters in Austin, Texas, for advanced chip design, testing and validation.
The new facility was partly funded by a $23 million grant from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund, set up under the Texas CHIPS Act, the company said.
The funding supports equipment upgrades for advanced wafer process technology nodes, the company said.
