United Microelectronics (UMC) shares were up 4.1% in afternoon trading on Friday after the company reported sales of 25.04 billion New Taiwan dollars ($790.6 million) in August, up 30.71% from a year earlier.
For the period of Jan. to Aug., sales increased 14.66% year-over-year to NT$178.66 billion.
