On October 11, President Donald Trump posted on X celebrating Columbus Day, asserting that statues of Christopher Columbus "are back" and extending greetings to the Italian American community.

In his message, Trump criticized those he described as "Radical Left Dumocrats, Socialists, and Communists," claiming they had torn down "almost all of the beautiful statues of Christopher Columbus" across cities and towns. He wrote: "Well, those days of plunder are over, and the statues are back, more magnificent than ever." Trump also emphasized the holiday’s significance for Italian Americans and Italy, writing: "HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY TO ALL, in particular our great Italian American Community... This is a big day for our great Italian American Community, and the Country of Italy itself, maybe the biggest. Congratulations!"

Trump’s post focused on celebrating the holiday and praising what he characterized as the restoration of Columbus statues, while framing the day as a major moment for Italian American heritage and for Italy.
