Aehr Test Systems (AEHR) recent share-price decline following Teradyne's (TER) Titan HP announcement appears overdone and creates a "buying opportunity," Oppenheimer said in a report Wednesday, after meeting with management at the CEO Summit.
The firm said concerns about competition are "overdone" because Teradyne's Titan HP remains primarily a "system-level test" platform, while Aehr's FOX system performs accelerated-life burn-in at the wafer level. That distinction limits the competitive overlap and reinforces FOX's differentiation, particularly for high-power artificial intelligence devices where "localized hotspots" and thermal runaway can complicate reliability testing.
Oppenheimer also sees longer-term opportunity from "broader hyperscaler adoption" and higher-value FOX configurations, while a second major AI processor remains a "key catalyst." However, it said meaningful high-volume manufacturing adoption could be "gradual" because the system still needs pilot-production validation in Taiwan, according to the report.
Oppenheimer maintained its estimates, outperform rating and $120 price target, on Aehr Test Systems.
