On October 13, President Donald Trump posted on X urging the Governor to remove New York State Attorney General Letitia James from the investigation into the Cornell rape scandal.

Questioning James’s role in the case and attacking her credibility, he wrote: “How can “New York State Attorney General,” Letitia James, be allowed to investigate the Cornell rape scandal, when she is a DIRTY AND DISGUSTING COP herself, and has ZERO credibility?”

He called for immediate removal and replacement: “The Governor should take James off this case, IMMEDIATELY, and replace her with somebody who is not a Third Rate, Crooked Politician!” He added that “Any decision will be appealed by her mere presence on this case,” and “The stench of Letitia James will greatly add to the anguish that everybody feels in viewing how this case is being handled.”
