Trump: Massive oil, gas and mineral exploration to begin in Greenland

On October 14, President Donald Trump said on X that massive oil, gas and mineral exploration is getting ready to begin in Greenland.

In his post, Trump cited unnamed “Experts,” claiming the amount of easily available oil there is “far greater than that of almost any land, anywhere in the World,” and arguing that, from a security perspective for “both the United States of America, and Europe,” the value is “second to none.” “Massive Oil, Gas, and Mineral Exploration is getting ready to begin in our new and beautiful Greenland!” he wrote.

Trump further asserted that “Any future attack on the United States will have to come across Greenland,” saying U.S. defenses would “routinely knock down drones, missiles, or any other form of weapon not yet even conceived,” and that the location “gives us time, location, and sightline, like nowhere else in the World.” He ended the message with, “Thank you for your attention to this matter.
