While general-purpose quantum computing may be years away, we'll likely see specific applications sooner. Think of it like the early days of computers: the first 8-bit computer emerged in the 1970s, but PCs didn't become widespread until the 1980s. IBM led the PC revolution, dominating the market for two decades.

Similarly, $IONQ Inc.(IONQ)$  is a current leader in quantum computing. They recently announced achieving their 29-qubit goal and aim to reach 64 qubits by 2025. This progress suggests that practical quantum applications might be closer than we think.
