Instagram is considering launching a standalone app for Reels, aiming to capitalize on TikTok’s uncertain future in the U.S. This follows Meta’s recent launch of Edits, a video-editing app competing with TikTok’s CapCut.

However, Meta previously attempted a similar move with Lasso in 2018, but failed. TikTok is just on another level.
