At the $Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ All-Hands 2025 quarterly meeting, Elon Musk concluded with an insightful reflection:
"You wouldn’t want to watch a show where everything goes smoothly, that would be too boring. People prefer stories with ups and downs, where you can never predict what’s going to happen next. That doesn’t mean the ending is always good, what we need to do is keep the ratings high and avoid having the show cancelled."
During the meeting, Elon appeared relaxed, clear-headed, confident, and resilient. He answered 14 questions from employees, addressing a wide range of topics:
On Production and Giga Casting: Tesla aims to further automate its production lines, with the goal of making vehicle production as fast as 5 seconds per car, and is exploring "super-sized" casting machines to improve efficiency.
On Optimus Robots: Musk hopes to produce 5,000 units of the Optimus robot by 2025, with plans to scale up to millions of units in the future. Initially, the robots will be tested internally before reaching the market.
On People Development: Musk discussed using first principles thinking in team management, stressing the importance of constantly improving oneself and creating products that people love.
On Stock Market Advice: Musk advised young investors to focus on companies that can consistently develop great products over the long term, using Tesla as an example.
On Texas Starbase: Musk shared his vision for turning his land across the Rio Grande into an alien-themed art project.
Musk’s answers highlighted Tesla’s ambitious plans in autonomous driving, robotics, and AI. He also addressed concerns about job displacement due to robots, stating that robots will not replace jobs but will instead transform them, requiring humans to manage them.
Finally, Musk hinted that Tesla’s mission might evolve to reflect a broader vision of "sustainable abundance," emphasizing not just energy and transportation but the potential for a truly abundant and sustainable future for all.
