$Rocket Lab USA, Inc.(RKLB)$ If only i had more money to invest! When i started using tiger trade a year ago i began with some trades in the demo account to get the hang of the tiger platform. Out of the $100,000 Monopoly money tiger gives you i put $7,000 into rocket lab. Even though its dropped more than $10 per share from highs, that single holding is worth a wee bit more in a year. Dam i wish i had more money to invest. the total portfolio is now worth over $400,000. At one point it surpassed $600,000. This is actually sobering. The more you have on the table the larger the dollar value movement. 

This year will be a rocky ride for sure, while my real portfolio was small, its now significantly bigger. At first, it wasn't hard to deal with a $10 paper loss or gain any given day. Now i have had to come to the emotional realization that my portfolio can drop or gain $1,000 any given day easily. In January this year i was up $5000, February down $14000, march, down $4000. Last year in my best month i was up $34,000.

How does one cope with this? Its insane right! I deal with it by reminding myself that i transferred $10,000 into tiger from my old broker over the course of 3 months. in that old account selling my stock there to buy here gave me realised gains of $9000. So essentially only $1000 was my potential loss. Last year in tiger i also took out my winnings to the tune of $10,000. So now if the entire market goes to zero (which it won't) I actually loose in real terms... absolutely nothing. I have actually banked $9000 In profits and got back my $1000. My portfolio today is worth $30,000. But im not using "my" money now. Its the houses money.

Does this make sense? the human brain is a complex beast. Am i upset that my portfolio is down $13,000 so far this year? Of course i am. But i must remind myself that i am now using my gains to make or loose money. I am actually not loosing a thing. 

Will i put the residual $9,000 profit back in though? Thats something im struggling with. i see some very cheap stocks ATM. But will they get more expensive or get even cheaper? Id say its 50/50 at present. I don't like those odds. Should i pull everything out and realize another $30,000 profit then? No, the stock market is my future. I don't really care if america dives into a massive recession tomorrow, because im thinking 10 years out and investing accordingly. 

What do you guys think? My portfolio actually would not be down so much if i hadn't got too cocky. Initially i made some fantastic options trades, that were very yummie $$$ wise. Then i did others that in retrospect were dumb. And its cost me. But i have learned so much. Rolling dead duck options is one example, just take the hit and take it once. And just do leaps, got too greedy. Short is bad, long is way better. 

9 months of options trading now, still a bunny but beginners luck i guess made way more than i lost, and the lessons going forward pay for the bad trades.
