Qingming Festival is one of the most important traditional holidays for Chinese communities. 、Besides visiting graves and paying respects to ancestors, many also burn paper offerings as symbolic gifts for their loved ones in the afterlife.

If you could choose anything to send, what would it be?

A Singaporean netizen shared that with work stress and little time to enjoy life, he would definitely send a mahjong table to his ancestors—so they can have fun with their neighbors in the afterlife!

Some young people choose burgers and fries as offerings, arguing that modern life is all about convenience. If that’s the case, why not burn an entire $McDonald's(MCD)$ store instead?

A Chinese netizen had a similar idea but opted for a 7-Eleven store, so their ancestors could have anything they want, anytime—even opening a supermarket in the afterlife! After all, wasn’t owning a store a childhood dream for many?

Meanwhile, a Singaporean child wished to burn Labubu and Cry Baby plush toys—their favorite collectibles. But would ancestors really appreciate these quirky, “ugly-cute” dolls?

Others had a more financially strategic approach—burning a bank so their ancestors could withdraw money at any time. Of course, gold ingots remain a classic choice, especially now that gold prices have hit record highs. But does gold in the afterlife follow the same market trends?

If you could send anything to your ancestors, what would it be?

If I could send anything to my ancestors, I’d start with a fully stocked 7-Eleven store so they’d have access to all their favorite snacks and essentials anytime. Owning a store was a childhood dream for many, so why not let them experience that joy in the afterlife? It’s both practical & fun!

For entertainment, a Mahjong table is a must—it’s a great way to relax, socialize, and keep their minds sharp. I’d also send a luxurious vacation package with five-star resorts & endless buffets, ensuring they enjoy a well-deserved break. After all, life (and afterlife) shouldn’t just be about responsibilities; it should be about enjoyment too.

Lastly, for financial security, I’d send a bank with unlimited withdrawals instead of just gold ingots. To keep them connected, I’d also include a smartphone with unlimited internet, so they can check in on us and stay updated on the world. This way, they’d have everything they need for a comfortable & fulfilling afterlife.

Qingming festival is an important festival for us to pay respect to ancestors. I have sent a lot of things in this festival over the years. I actually would like to ask my ancestors for a sure-strike 4D so that I can win some money to survive this market crash. Thanks @Tiger_SG @icycrystal

🌟🌟🌟Since ancient times, the Chinese have always paid respect to their elders and Qingming Festival is especially important to us.  Qingming is a time to remember those who have come before us and honour their memory by visiting their final resting place.

Even though my father passed away 2 years ago,  his memory is still lives in my heart.

When he was alive he loved to play his records.  His favourite song would be Elvis Presley's "Love Me Tender".

I know that he would be happy if I could send him a record player with  all his favourite Elvis Presley's records.

This year's Qingming Festival falls on April 4.  Many Chinese families would be visiting the graves of their ancestors.

The  Qingming Festival brings to my mind that our time on Earth is finite.  We should treasure our loved ones when they are alive and   live life to the fullest.

Today is Qingming Festival. Last time use to go Tomb to pray my ancestors and use to burn many items to them. But later on when they move from Tomb to Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery we seldom burn anything as we believe they are going to reincarnation since they had pass on many year already. So instead of burning items we will do praying. Also environment friendly. If really if I could sent something to my Ancestors is I wish them good and healthy in the next life. @Tiger_SG @koolgal @MHh @SR050321 @SPOT_ON @HelenJanet @Obhveron share your thoughts. 🙏

I think their favourite food/ new creative food here and money would be the most practical. Don’t want to still have to work by managing a bank or 7-11 haha. Burn as much money as possible so that they can get anything they desire.
