The Real Power of Out of Sight, Out of Mind.

You know that feeling when you check your portfolio and see all the numbers in red? My first instinct? Close the app and pretend I never saw it. But I realized I needed a better way to handle it. So, here’s what I do when my portfolio turns red.

I click the eye icon in my Tiger Brokers app, and poof—all my numbers—P&L, total securities value, and the price of each stock—vanish behind a blanket of asterisks. Just a row of stars, like my portfolio’s gone into stealth mode.

And here’s the thing: out of sight, out of mind. It’s like when you put your dirty laundry under the bed. You know it’s there, but hey, as long as you don’t look at it, everything’s fine.

By hiding the numbers, I’m not letting my emotions take the wheel. Sure, I’m not fixing anything, but at least I’m not making any hasty decisions either.

Eventually, when I’m ready, I’ll check my portfolio again. Maybe it’s bounced back, maybe it hasn’t. Either way, I’ll be in a much clearer headspace to deal with it.

Takeaway: Sometimes, the best strategy is to hit the "hide" button. If the market’s going to make you crazy, at least give yourself some space to breathe. Because staring at a sea of red isn’t going to help you make smarter decisions.

One Sentence to Describe How You've Gotten Through This Market Crash
The market's been in the red every day—so red it matches the color of my face and ears whenever someone asks about my returns. With the way things have been going, do you need a little mental prep just to open your account each day? Some people are trying to calm down, some have surrendered with clarity, and others are buying the dip. Use one sentence to describe how you felt living through this market crash.
