Some explaination for each
Best Day Trading Stocks – Consistent High Percentage Movers
The list is a sample of the day trading stocks that tend to move more than 5% per day (long-term average movement). This means you don’t need to look around every morning for something new to trade.
You know that these stocks are likely to move big each day. These stocks also have high daily average volume.
The high-percentage movers tend to be lower-priced stocks. The list below includes stocks between $6 and $135 (with the occasional exception).
The 5-minute charts are provided by TradingView.
Best Stocks for Day Trading – Consistent Big Dollar Movers
The list shows the day trading stocks that tend to move more than $2 per day, but that are priced near $300 or below. They must also move at least 2% intraday (between daily high and low) on average. Pick one to four and trade them all week.
Best Mid-Priced Day Trading Stocks (Loads of Volume With Good Movement)
This section is for stocks priced between $20 and $45 with at least 30 million in daily average volume.
If I don’t like how other stocks are moving, because spreads are too large, or the movement is choppy, I will often trade one of those for multiple weeks.
Best Stocks for Day Trading – Finding Today’s Big Movers
If you want a daily updated list of stocks to day trade, that are making the biggest moves each day, you can do that with TradingView or Finviz. Then, run a scan before the market opens and during the day.
Below is how you can do it on Finviz (a subscription is required for real-time price data).
Focus on the stocks that have the biggest Change from Open, either to the upside or downside.
Also, pay attention to the stocks that have the highest Relative Volume (Rel Volume), as these stocks are seeing a lot more activity than usual.
Monitor the list throughout the day for stocks that are making big changes in either of these columns. For example, if a stock is only showing a 2% change from the open, but then starts showing 3%, then a 4% change, that stock is on the move!
In the pre-market, you may want to set Current volume to 100K. Then, as the day progresses, you can continue to increase this so that you don’t end up with a list of stocks with little volume. Adjust any of the criteria to suit your needs. Under the Technical tab, you may also wish to set ATR to >0.50, for example, so only stocks that have decent dollar movement show up.
Happy Day Trading!
