Warren Buffett's 60-Year Legacy: What to Watch for at Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting?

The annual major investment event, Berkshire Hathaway's Annual Shareholder Meeting, will be held on May 3rd in Omaha, Nebraska, the hometown of Warren Buffett.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of Buffett's leadership at Berkshire. Dubbed the 'Diamond Shareholder Meeting,' this event is expected to shed light on the succession plans of the investment legend and delve into Buffett's recent strategic investment moves.

For the first time, the traditional opening movie segment has been canceled, extending the Q&A session to 6 hours. As in previous years, Buffett will answer investment questions posed by shareholders.

What will be the highlights of Berkshire Hathaway's Annual Shareholder Meeting in 2025?

Highlight 1:How will Warren Buffett view the tariff wars that are disrupting global markets?

In March 2025, Buffett made a rare statement regarding Trump's tariff policy. Buffett said that tariffs are, to some extent, a "war act." However, he still stated that most of the funds he manages will continue to be invested in the United States.

Highlight 2: With over $300 billion in cash, when will the "Oracle of Omaha" make his move?

Amid heightened volatility in the global markets, Wall Street is speculating on several possibilities: large acquisitions where he seeks influential targets, strategic bailouts involving larger-scale opportunities, and patient waiting as he searches for the right price moment.

Highlight 3: Why did Warren Buffett increase stakes in the five major Japanese trading companies again?

In the first quarter of 2025, Buffett's stake in the five major Japanese trading companies (including Mitsui & Co. and Mitsubishi Corporation) approached 10%. By issuing low-interest yen bonds (with interest rates between 0.5% and 1.1%), he purchased high-dividend assets (with a dividend yield of 5%), expecting an annual arbitrage profit of $812 million. This move highlights his preference for assets that counteract inflation.

Highlight 4: 60th Anniversary Special Agenda: Limited Edition Book to be Released

2025 marks the 60th anniversary of Buffett's leadership at Berkshire Hathaway. During this anniversary, a limited edition book titled "60 Years of Berkshire Hathaway" will be released, featuring previously unpublished letters from Charlie Munger and a history of the company's development.
