COMEX gold futures gained 0.5% to settle at $5,149.2 per ounce, while COMEX silver futures edged up 0.15% to $83.6 per ounce.
International crude oil futures settled nearly unchanged. The April WTI crude contract closed up 0.13% at $74.66 per barrel, and the May Brent crude contract finished flat at $81.4 per barrel.
