Tesla increased production capacity and capital expenditure, promoted the expansion of multi-project and driverless ride-hailing, and launched a million-million-capacity humanoid robot production line
Tesla said that the current and future global chip demand will significantly exceed the total existing and planned industry production capacity, and the gap between supply and demand may further expand. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that the company plans to significantly increase production capacity and vehicle production, and it is expected that capital expenditure will increase significantly. At the same time, Tesla will prepare the first factory to mass-produce humanoid robots in the second quarter, and prepare the second-generation production line in Texas Gigafactory, with a planned annual production capacity of 1 million units. The Optimus V3 robot is expected to be unveiled from the end of July to August, officially released in mid-2026, and put into external scenario application in 2027. The improvement of battery production capacity is still the key. The production capacity of Nevada and Texas factories has climbed smoothly, focusing on Nevada lithium iron phosphate battery cells and Texas cathode material production lines, and actively promoting the application of 4680 batteries. Construction of the Houston Energy Storage Gigafactory is progressing well, with plans for mass production of the third-generation Megapack energy storage system later this year. Cortex 2 computing power cluster has gone online and started training tasks, and Dojo3 chip development continues to advance. Musk also plans to spend $3 billion to build a research chip factory in Texas. In addition, Tesla's paid mileage of driverless ride-hailing service in the first quarter almost doubled from the previous quarter. Cyber driverless electric vehicles will replace Model Y as the largest fleet, and actively prepare to enter more cities to ensure safety priority.
