$Micron Technology(MU)$ The supply bottleneck isn't going away anytime soon. Even with new capacity coming online in late 2026 and 2027, the supply situation only keeps getting worse. By 2028 more supply enters, which might ease things a bit for consumer products, but certainly not for HBM. Right now CXMT is arguably selling inferior DRAM at higher prices than SK and Samsung. Micron has pretty much walked away from that side of the business to focus on HBM. So where does that leave DRAM? It's hard to imagine they'd want to go back to the boom-bust cycles. The business model likely keeps changing fundamentally over the next few years. Can CXMT catch up in HBM? They're generations behind at the moment, and any success would probably just get sold back into the Chinese market. Either way, it looks like Micron, SK, and Samsung will keep printing enormous sums of money for the next 18 months.
