$Amazon.com(AMZN)$  Looking at a hypothetical scenario where Amazon acquires MercadoLibre for $250 billion, making it one of the largest M&A deals ever. The proposed structure is that MELI shareholders could choose between 18 shares of AMZN for every 1 MELI share, or $5,000 cash per MELI share.

MercadoLibre seems like one of the most strategic assets out there — its dominance in Latin American commerce, payments, and logistics combined with Amazon's global scale, AWS, and capital could create an ecosystem that doesn't really exist in the Americas right now.

It sounds crazy, but the biggest deals usually do before they happen.
