  As a Malaysian living in Singapore, I usually visit Johor Bahru every few months. With the favorable currency exchange, expenses in Johor are much cheaper for someone working in Singapore. For instance, clothes, shoes, and supplements are significantly more affordable there compared to Singapore, making the trip worthwhile.

  A good pair of shoes or clothing costs much less in Johor, and health supplements are also cheaper. While prices in Johor have increased in recent years, the cost difference is still noticeable for someone living and working in Singapore.   I don’t visit Malaysia as I believe Singapore has everything I need. I don’t like jostling with the crowds or get stuck in the queue. I prefer eating in hawker centres and shopping in our local malls. Or buying things online like shopee or redmart as it gets delivered to your doorstep.
  There are plenty of stalls selling Malaysian food too.

  🌟🌟🌟As a Singaporean, Johor Bahru is a shopping paradise.  Almost everything is much cheaper than Singapore.  The familiar refrain among fellow Singaporeans is "Cheap Cheap" and Singaporeans tend to buy loads of household necessities in Johor Bahru (JB). 

  I like to go to JB every fortnight and prefer to go on weekdays to avoid the horrendous queue at the Causeway.   I also like to take the short 5 minutes train trip to go across.  It is much faster than driving. 

  Apart from shopping household items like rice, milk powder, Milo and other essential items, I like to treat myself with massage, and enjoy a Buffett lunch or Dinner which offer phenomenal value compared to Singapore. 

  Occasionally I would book a Staycation in JB and just chill for a few days.  JB offers a fantastic getaway from Singapore at awesome prices.  "Cheap, Cheap"  is certainly my favourite phrase when I am shopping in JB.

  Support local pls. As a Singaporean,  we can occasionally visit JB to enjoy the foods and shopping. But do support our local pls. I stayed so near to JB but I hardly really visit JB every month.
  Take example HK, since China made it so easy to travel from HK to Shen Zheng, the local  retail and restaurants suffered very badly.

  If you want to spend for hair, colour, perm, treatment, etc yes definitely cheaper for manicure quality not as good as in Singapore. However the total money spent is not lower because go to JB start yr morning with dimsum, then lunch at restaurant there, like arashi hotpot or roasted duck at KSL, shopping at the malls there, coffee time at oriental coffee, a night at Airbnb, supper nearby airbnb nasi bryani, lok lok, breakfast near Airbnb, lunch then proceed to go home in Singapore. JB, Melaka, KL is a weekend trip 😁 everyweek is not recommended unless can go during the weekdays.
