Notable Highlights

• The most watched event would be the Federal Reserve's interest rate decision with the market expecting the interest rate to remain at 4.50%. Any changes to this are likely to cause volatility in the market.

• The next most important economic news will be the Core PCE data. This is the preferred data used by the Federal Reserve regarding inflation, and thus this is expected to bring some volatility in the market.

• CB consumer confidence will be released with a forecast of 105.9. This forecast reflects the positive outlook that consumers have.

• Durable goods orders will also be released with a forecast at 0.1%.

• US Q4 GDP result will also be released with an expected 2.7% growth quarter on quarter. A stronger-than-expected growth would be bullish for the market.

• Chicago's PMI has a forecast of 40.6 which implies a contraction.

• Initial jobless claims will be announced. The Federal Reserve uses this as one of the key macro data references as it balances inflation and employment in the economy.

• Crude Oil Inventories can be seen as forward indicators of market demand and consumption. If the trend of excess inventories continues, demand erosion can lead to reduced production & weakening consumer spending.
