$Tesla Motors(TSLA)$ has to replace computer in 4 million cars or compensate their owners
This will be a big hit, but I don't think this is quite as big of a deal as it seems.
Only about half a million of the vehicles with HW 2.5 and HW 3 computers purchased the FSD. Those computers would have to be replaced for free (or the owners compensated). The rest (~3.5 million) would only be replaced if/when they purchased FSD, and that cost ($8k) would more than pay for the replacement.
Also, since the FSD is no longer transferrable and stays with the vehicle, most owners will likely be reluctant to spend $8k to get FSD on an older Tesla (if they didn't think it was worth it when it was new).![[Grin]](https://c1.itigergrowtha.com/community/assets/media/emoji_014_ciya.6e6d1a10.png)
