Sadly, I don’t have any friends who work in these companies. I would love to know what is so amazing about these companies that allowed them to become best employers. I do know some of the technology companies offer perks such as free meals, games within office, flexible working hours but I think a great employer goes beyond providing all these. There must be something they are doing right to build the desirable work culture. Having been to Apple Store recently, I think it helps that they have sufficient manpower so that their employees don’t feel that they are squeezed dry everyday at work. I think having a brand as a top employer helps attract talent to the company and could be a win-win situation for both parties if the talent can be retained. However, rank shift may not mean much to jobseekers if they don’t have the skill sets for the job or don’t like the job scope. It’s like finding a life partner where both parties must click!

Apart from the consistently strong local banks (DBS, OCBC, UOB), Singapore companies like Koufu Group and SIA made remarkable leaps.
