Apple Tops SG Best Employers Again! How Do You Feel About These Stars?

Recently, the 2025 list of Singapore’s Best Employers was released, and Apple has claimed the No.1 spot. In 2023, Google held the top spot with an impressive score of 9.13. But tides have turned — Apple surged to No.1 in 2024 and maintained its lead into 2025, while Google has slipped all the way down to 8th place. Apart from the consistently strong local banks (DBS, OCBC, UOB), Singapore companies like Koufu Group and SIA made remarkable leaps. Do you have friends working in these companies? Share your experience? What do you think rank shift means for Singapore’s job market?

Apple Tops SG Best Employers Again! How Do You Feel About These Stars?

The 2025 list of Singapore’s Best Employers is out, and once again, Apple takes the top spot. After overtaking Google in 2024, it has managed to hold its lead for a second year — no small feat in such a competitive landscape. In contrast, Google, which led the list in 2023 with an impressive score of 9.13, has slipped down to 8th place. What’s particularly interesting is how local companies are making strong moves. The usual banking giants — DBS, OCBC, and UOB — continue to be pillars of consistency, but other names stood out this year. Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Koufu Group made impressive progress this year. It's great to see a broader mix of industries being recognised for treating their employees well. These rankings are based on extensive surveys from employees, which makes them wor

Apple Tops Singapore's Best Employer. What are the Hallmarks of a Great Employer?

🌟🌟🌟Apple $Apple(AAPL)$  secured its top ranking as Singapore's Best Employer for 2 years in a row by excelling in a extensive employee survey conducted by a global research firm in collaboration with The Straits Times and Statista. This survey invited over 14,000 employees from more than 2000 organisations across 27 sectors to evaluate their own and other employers.  Participants provided both direct recommendations by rating their willingness to recommend their own workplace on a 0 to 10 scale and indirect recommendations by endorsing other companies.  With over 380,000 combined recommendations, Apple's impressive average score of 8.68 positioned it at the top of the ranking among 250 eligible compani

I find these employer rankings interesting but they should be taken with a pinch of salt. Sometimes companies “encourage” staff to give high ratings in exchange for small perks, which can affect accuracy. It’s still a good reference, just not the full picture. Apple $Apple(AAPL)$ keeping its No.1 spot shows strong branding, while SIA’s $SIA(C6L.SI)$ big comeback is impressive after COVID. Local names like Koufu rising in the ranks also show that homegrown companies are getting more recognition, which is great for Singapore’s job market. However, rankings shouldn’t be the only factor when considering a job. Thing

Congratulations 👏🎉 to the Winners 🏆🏆 and to Apple 🍎.  Hopefully next year there will be more local companies taking the top spot 🙏 Instead of Koufu [Thinking]... Maybe 🤔 because the working environment allows more Kopi or Tea 🍵☕ Breaks [Chuckle] [Chuckle] [Chuckle].

Sadly, I don’t have any friends who work in these companies. I would love to know what is so amazing about these companies that allowed them to become best employers. I do know some of the technology companies offer perks such as free meals, games within office, flexible working hours but I think a great employer goes beyond providing all these. There must be something they are doing right to build the desirable work culture. Having been to Apple Store recently, I think it helps that they have sufficient manpower so that their employees don’t feel that they are squeezed dry everyday at work. I think having a brand as a top employer helps attract talent to the company and could be a win-win situation for both parties if the talent can be retained. However, rank shift may not mean much to jo
