What Wall Street Is Really Saying

These revisions reveal three very different post-earnings narratives.

Microsoft remains Wall Street's clear AI favorite. Strong Azure growth, accelerating AI monetization, and expanding enterprise demand prompted analysts to lift targets almost across the board, reinforcing confidence that Microsoft's earnings power is still improving.

Meta tells a different story. Although earnings were solid, analysts generally lowered price targets. That doesn't necessarily imply weakening fundamentals. Instead, after an extraordinary rally, many firms appear to be resetting valuation expectations, suggesting the stock may need additional earnings growth before supporting further multiple expansion.

SoFi received the most cautious response. Multiple target cuts indicate analysts are becoming more conservative on its near-term outlook, reflecting greater uncertainty around growth expectations and execution.

The market is becoming far more selective.

Simply delivering strong revenue growth is no longer enough. Companies that continue converting AI investment into accelerating earnings—like Microsoft—are still being rewarded with higher valuations. Meanwhile, stocks with stretched valuations or less certain growth trajectories are seeing expectations reset, even after respectable earnings.

Wall Street is no longer paying for AI promises alone. It is paying for measurable AI execution.
