Do You Trade Stocks for Breaking Even or Making Money?

Most investors starts stock trading to make a profit, but during actual operations, many investors may gradually shift their focus to breaking even. However, the stock market doesn’t always go as planned, especially when facing market corrections or personal operational mistakes, which may lead to losses.

$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ If you are trading to break even you mite as well give up and put your money in a bank account. Yes as investors we all make mistakes in hindsight, so sometimes cutting your losses is a necessary but deeply uncomfortable thing to do. But realising losses is hopefully a learning experience... what did you do wrong and how will you avoid a repeat. With stock investing knowledge is power, and that power leads to profit. be an information sponge, soak up everything but be highly critical, just because someone has done a fancy DFC on a stock and it looks impressive, it's probably not. As an emotional investor of course I look at the past of a stock and in some cases like $Realty Income(O)$ P

My Watchlist [135]: CCL... Coiling for the Big Move?

Hi everyone. Today I’ll be updating my TA on a really exciting stock: Carnival Corporation (NYSE: CCL) CCL has been trading in a bullish megaphone pattern with higher highs and lower lows… since 1997! It broke out of the 2017 resistance trendline (in red) in Jun’23, and has since traded in a series of higher highs and higher lows in the short-term. The weekly chart shows us the short-term bullish pattern that is taking place. Notice the ascending channel (in green) that has been playing out, as well as the ascending triangle coiling pattern with equal highs at 19.46 and higher lows. The Stochastic oscillator completed a bullish crossover with this week’s close, signalling a move higher in the coming weeks. Minimally, I’m expecting CCL to fill the 18.16-18.18 bearish gap and come back into

I think all investors trade for money making  [LOL] who doesn't like profit? but the reality is cruel. Now, I am kind of an investor looking for breakeven because most of my stock is deep down and didn't seem like to rebound  [Spurting] [Facepalm]

Most of us, the retail investors, enter the arena with the intention of making good money in the stock market. We get more information on the fundamentals, risks vs returns, market dynamics, investors sentiment and take the plunge with optimistic goals. Eventually, we discover that the individual strategy will not always make money the way we want and struggle to break even at hard times. I believe and do have a long term strategy on many solid stocks, but also trade at hot and cold points of the other half volatile stocks. I do follow Mark Howard advice “Buy the market hate and sell People love” when you have reasons to do so. Happy Investing! Stay long , Stay strong!

$Tiger Brokers(TIGR)$ Of cos it's to make money, still it's normal to have losses. The art is to have more wins than losses. In the long run, it's still time in the market that I believe more vs. timing the market.

In 2022, PepsiCo invested $550 million in Celsius for an 8.5% ownership stake, at a market cap of approximately $7 billion. Celsius currently has a market cap of about $9.4 billion. These partnerships enable the younger brands to leverage Coca-Cola and Pepsi's extensive distribution networks, allowing them to reach the market much faster than they could on their own. Meanwhile, the established beverage giants benefit by avoiding the need to develop their own energy drink brands, instead backing products that have already demonstrated traction. It's a win-win partnership for both sides Energy drink stocks, Monster Beverage (NASDAQ: MNST) and Celsius (NASDAQ: CELH), have both struggled in the year to date and over the past 12 months. Monster has declined 20% YTD and 18% over the past year. H

Trade to make money definitely. If there are losing trade, I sell when it break even, least I don’t lose money. If doesn’t break even after a specific period of time, will cut loss, after all, it is planned risk capital for each counter entry.

investing in stk is like going to casino. everyone goes to casino hope to win big. however most people lose than make.  whether you win or loss depend also on your luck factor. it is not how smart you are. believe me I have see through my 30yrs of experience

The objective is to let the winners run… and cut the losers… but it is easier said than done. While still learning the art, I have tried to let the winners run (trimming only when it becomes too big in my portfolio ) while waiting for those with potential losers to catch back up… when assessing where to cut, instead of profit taking , the tendency now is lost trimming

I'm drowning in cash and have nowhere to spend it. My super yacht is probably getting dusty, and those properties around the world are just collecting keys. Investing with Tiger Brokers is just a hobby to pass the time, using my spare change.

trick question. why would anyone trade stock to break even? of cos it's to make money. the question is how you make money? understand technicals, follow stop losses and target profits, do this consistently, and be disciplined. that's how you make money.
