As of April 8, Meitu had made net purchases of approximately $100 million worth of cryptocurrency in three separate transactions, including 940,885 Bitcoin and 31,000 Ethereum.

On the evening of April 8, Meitu purchased 175.67798279 units of Bitcoin for a total consideration of approximately $10 million. Previously, on March 17, Meitu purchased 16,000 units of Ethereum and 386.08581655 units of Bitcoin through its wholly-owned subsidiary Miracle Vision, for a total consideration of US$28.4 million and US$21.6 million respectively. On March 5, Meitu purchased 15,000 units of Ethereum and 379.1214267 units of Bitcoin in an open market transaction, with a total consideration of approximately $22.1 million and $17.9 million, respectively. How crazy is Meitu's cryptocurrency trading? It is understood that the aforementioned cryptocurrency investment planning funds are almost equal to Meitu's entire gross profit last year. According to its 2020 annual results report, Meitu's cash and cash equivalents amounted to approximately RMB 1.1 billion at the end of 2020.

On April 13, the cryptocurrency market was in an uproar, with Bitcoin breaking through the $63,000 mark and Ethereum also breaking through $2,200. It can be said that Cai Wensheng is a staunch supporter of blockchain technology and digital currency.

Shortly after Meitu made its first purchase of cryptocurrency, Cai Wensheng posted on his WeChat Moments:

Meitu continues its investment in blockchain, this time purchasing ETH and BTC digital currencies as a value reserve for its long-term blockchain development strategy.
